FMA in Austria

The Financial Market Authority (or FMA) is a regulatory body supervising financial markets in Austria. It supervises banks, insurance and pensions companies, investment companies, and overviews compliance with legal requirements.

Moreover, the FMA supervises companies related to cryptocurrencies since January 2020, requiring VASPs to comply with AML rules such as conducting due diligence, filing reports, and registering with the regulator.
